The Embassy of Finland in Nairobi issues visas to Schengen area travelers, when their main travel destination is Finland, as well as receives and transmits residence permit applications for living in Finland. The Embassy makes the decisions on visa applications and the Finnish Immigration Service for the residence permit applications. A visa entitles a person to stay in the Schengen area for a maximum of 90 days during six months. For a longer stay, a residence permit is required.
